As Entropy Energy we are currently developing pre-feasibility studies for potential solar power plant areas especially in the South-East region of Turkey. This region is well-known to host large sum of areas with low slope values and solar irradiation figures are well above the average. One of our pilot projects has been introduced to the DESERTEC concept and has been shortlisted by the comitee. The proposed project is one of the first of our developments, with an installed capacity of 12 MWp

Turkey offers perfect natural conditions for solar power projects. The country is geographically located in the Mediterranean sun belt. Solar irradiation values are similar to Spain and Portugal. Renewable energy law with guarantied off-take provides further boost to a growing appetite among debt and equity investors in the Turkish energy market. The government is expected to announce a new feed-in-tariff for electrical energy generated by PV and CSP technologies. Electricity market is expected to be fully privatized by 2012 and the Turkish Energy Ministry is projecting a 5000 MW installed capacity of solar power until 2020.
